Valerie joined the EPIC Physical Therapy team in January of 2018. She has lived in Raleigh since 2013 and originally comes from Jacksonville, NC where her father was stationed in the military. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Exercise and Sports Science: Athletic Training. She has been a licensed certified Athletic Trainer since May of 2013.
Valerie has previously worked with the Raleigh Rugby Football Club, Barbados International Rugby, NCFC USL Men’s soccer team, and the NC Courage NWSL professional women’s soccer team. She enjoys the treatment and prevention of lower extremity injuries, including knee, foot and ankle. She has experience with ACL Injury Prevention programs in the high school setting, and high level return to sport rehabilitation. In addition to completing continuing education courses in pain science, she has completed Kinesio taping Method Course I and II and uses these techniques for many purposes, including pain management and muscle facilitation. She feels that helping athletes and active individuals get back to their sport and accomplish their goals is the most rewarding part of her job!
In her spare time, Valerie enjoys playing soccer, running, hiking, and exploring Raleigh! She hopes to continue her education and become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist to train athletes to become stronger and faster after injury.
